In this talk, Stephen Evans, Chief Executive of the National Secular Society, will highlight the role of secularism in promoting free speech and freedom of belief, alongside the rising challenges to these principles posed by Islamic blasphemy codes and the implications of the concept of ‘Islamophobia’. The discussion will engage with current debates on freedom of expression and the vital role of secularism in safeguarding the right to speak freely.
